A Joint Awareness Campaign by Arivial Sangam and IGCAR Kalpakkam!

In a grand initiative to dispel myths and create awareness about nuclear energy and its safety protocols among college students, Arivial Sangam, in collaboration with the Kalpakkam Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR), successfully organized the Anu Yatra" mobile nuclear reactor model exhibition and awareness rally.

A distinguished team of scientists from Kalpakkam traveled directly to various leading colleges across Tamil Nadu in a specially designed exhibition vehicle equipped with state-of-the-art nuclear reactor models to spearhead this educational campaign.

Event Highlights and Competitions

1. Mobile Nuclear Reactor Model Exhibition: The specialized exhibition vehicle showcased intricate models of nuclear reactors from IGCAR, radiation protection equipment, and the mechanisms of nuclear power generation. Scientists gave live, detailed demonstrations to the visiting students.

2. Talk to Scientists (Interactive Session): Students had the unique opportunity to interact face-to-face with Kalpakkam atomic research scientists, clarifying their doubts about nuclear energy, radiation safety, and environmental protection.

3. Inter-Collegiate Competitions: To actively engage the youth, the following competitions were conducted at each host college, featuring exciting

       Nuclear Quiz:* A fast-paced, competitive quiz testing students on general science and atomic energy.

Elocution Competition: An oratory battle where students spoke eloquently on the topic "India's Energy Demands and the Crucial Role of Nuclear Power."

Awards and Recognition

Students who emerged victorious in the various campus competitions were honored with merit certificates and trophies presented by the IGCAR scientists and office bearers of Ariviyal Sangam. Additionally, educational brochures detailing India's atomic achievements were distributed freely to all participating students.

The contribution of today's youth is paramount to the nation's atomic and energy growth. This 'Anu Yatra' has successfully ignited a new scientific curiosity among thousands of students, stated the visiting team of scientists proudly.
